Quality Assurance System Training

A HACCP quality assurance system was first developed by the NFGWS in association with the National Rural Water Monitoring Committee (NRWMC) in 2002.  This system was updated in 2007 on foot of the new regulations and legislation introduced in that year, while a dedicated training course was also developed in that year.

Water Safety Planning is now a core responsibility for any water supplier and the NFGWS Quality Assurance System training course is an excellent starting point for any group scheme wishing to develop its own water safety plan.

Delivered over 3 hours, this course introduces GWS committees and operational staff to the concept of evaluating and addressing risks from source to tap, dealing in some detail with issues such as source protection, verification of treatment systems and distribution network management.  It also introduced schemes to the checklists and standard operating procedures that form the basis of Quality Assurance documentation and emphasises the importance of emergency planning.
